For community members experiencing food insecurity, Feeding Champlain Valley has food shelves in Chittenden, Addison, and Franklin Counties which provide free food and meals, as well as other services. Feeding Champlain Valley prides itself on offering a dignified marketplace, where staff and volunteers treat each guest with respect. Guests have access to translation services and will be registered through PantrySoft, our pantry management software.
TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program), is administered at the federal level by the Food and Nutrition Service, an agency of the USDA. Requirements are based on a chart that is updated annually.
Yes! Families and individuals who are eligible to receive 3SquaresVT benefits, also known as SNAP (short for the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), can also receive food from Feeding Champlain Valley. 3SquaresVT benefits help income-eligible people purchase groceries and come on a plastic card called an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. Our staff will review eligibility for 3SquaresVT benefits and will help guests through the application process, if they aren’t already enrolled.
Yes! People 60 years of age or older, living in Vermont can participate in other federal nutrition programs like CSFP and 3SquaresVT.

NorthWest Family Foods – Twice per month, but not during the same week.
Our neighbors who come to our food shelves can choose from a variety of fresh produce, baked goods, canned & dry goods, prepared meals, toiletries, and other items. If possible, please bring your own bags, as we have a limited number of boxes.
Hours for our Burlington Food Shelf, serving Chittenden County, located at 228 North Winooski Avenue in Burlington: Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM (no service on Vermont State Holidays).
Hours for our food shelf serving Addison County, located at the Addison Food Hub at 616 Exchange Street, in Middlebury: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM (no service on Vermont State Holidays).
Hours for NorthWest Family Foods, serving Franklin County, located at 5 Lemnah Drive in St. Albans: Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM (no service on Vermont State Holidays).
Hours for our Richford Food Shelf, serving Franklin County, located at 53 Main Street in Richford: Monday from 4:00 PM – 6 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

At our Burlington Food Shelf, located at 228 North Winooski Avenue in Burlington, we provide a seated meal, open to the entire community, Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM as part of CVOEO’s Community Resource Center.
