Holidays Without Hunger
Right here in our community,
2 in 5 Vermonters face hunger every day.
Our goal is to feed 10,000 families and neighbors this holiday season.
Our Goal:
Get Food to 10,000 Families and Neighbors

40% of Our Vermont Neighbors Experience Hunger Daily
Hunger is real in the United States. Nationwide, 44 million Americans face hunger daily. Vermont is no exception, with 2 out of every 5 Vermonters experiencing hunger.
Many of our neighbors don’t have enough money to cover their most basic needs, and they need your help. This holiday season, we expect to receive over 40,000 visits to our food shelves for groceries, requests for food delivery, visits for a hot meal, and emergency calls during times of crisis.
Our Solution
For over 50 years, Feeding Champlain Valley has been fighting hunger in Vermont. Our work increases food access, cultivates opportunity, and strengthens community. Those in need of groceries and food for a Thanksgiving dinner can visit one of our food shelves:
- Addison Food Hub in Middlebury
- NorthWest Family Foods in St. Albans
- Burlington Food Shelf in the Old North End
- Richford Food Shelf in Richford
Last year alone, we distributed over 2 million pounds of food, filling stomachs and hearts. Our work goes beyond groceries. We provide over 5,000 hot meals a month, distributed through a network of community partners. We rescue and repurpose food from grocery stores and farms that would’ve otherwise ended up in the landfill. We have three food hubs across the service area and a fleet of delivery vehicles that transport grocery deliveries to rural towns and households without access to the food they need.
We are a lifeline for the thousands of children, families, older adults, veterans, and people with disabilities who need our help.
How to Organize a Food and Fund Drive
When you host a food and/or fund drive, or donate directly from your farm, garden or business, your contributions bring hope and sustenance to people facing food insecurity.
Other Ways to Give
There are many ways you can give back, including: volunteering, monthly gifts, starting a fundraiser, stock donations, or donating through your donor-advised fund (DAF).
Feeding Champlain Valley is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, EIN #03-0216837.
